Mitten tree party

St. Francis Xavier Altar Society sponsors its annual Mitten Tree Party on Thursday in the parish hall. The evening begins with 5 p.m. Mass followed by a meeting and supper. Guests are asked to bring warm hats, mittens, gloves, ear warmers or scarves and food shelf items. Donations distributed to schools in Superior. Bring door and bingo prizes. Committee members are Betty Krysiak, Marilee Culliton, Eileen McDonald and Barb Bronson.

Tree lighting

The Brule Presbyterian Church Tree-Lighting beings at 4:30 p.m. Sunday with a pot luck meal followed by the reading of names of people to be recognized at 5:30 p.m. and the lighting of the outdoor tree. Lights cost $3 each.

Guitar concert

Greg Gilbertson, a nationally acclaimed acoustic finger-style guitarist, shares his compositions and the works of others beginning at 6 p.m. Dec. 5 during a concert at Darrow Road Wesleyan Church, 4020 S. Darrow Road. Free will offering accepted.

Gospel quartet

The gospel quartet, Heartsong, will be at Concordia Lutheran Church, 1708 John Ave., at 10:30 a.m. Sunday. Come and enjoy their gospel favorites. You will be uplifted. The church is handicapped accessible. All welcome. Call (715) 394-3762.

Senior fellowship

“Joys of Christmas” is the theme for the 6 p.m. Thursday gathering of Senior Adults’ Fellowship at Bayside Baptist Church, 3915 N. 16th St. The evening includes a catered dinner and a Christmas concert on organ and piano presented by Joe and Clarice Brygger. Tickets are $7.50 each. RSVP by Tuesday.
