Douglas County hosts H1N1 vaccine clinic
The Douglas County Public Health Service is offering another Influenza A (HINI) vaccination clinic for targeted, high risk populations 3-7 p.m. today at Mission Covenant Church, 5161 S. County Road P, Poplar.
The Douglas County Public Health Service is offering another Influenza A (HINI) vaccination clinic for targeted, high risk populations 3-7 p.m. today at Mission Covenant Church, 5161 S. County Road P, Poplar.
The targeted populations were expanded by the CDC on Friday to include all pregnant women; health care and emergency services personnel; all people 6 months through 24 years of age; people who live with or care for children younger than 6 months of age, and people age 25-64 years who have health conditions associated with higher risk of medical complications from influenza.
There is no charge for the vaccination. The vaccine consent form that may be filled out and brought to the vaccination clinic is available at www.douglascountywi.org/flu.
The Public Health Service will also be in schools throughout the County, starting the week of Nov. 30 to offer vaccinations to all children who have parental consent in place.
In addition, people meeting the targeted populations at this time may get the Influenza A, HINI vaccination at the Public Health Service 8 a.m. to noon Mondays and noon to 4 p.m. Fridays. The office will be closed this Thursday and Friday.
