This popular show was established to give hunters’ wives a special day for shopping and socializing, said Carol Mallegni, president of KIN. Admission is free.
Chef Bill Urbaniak of Lawn Beach Inn in Lake Nebagamon is preparing his special chicken wild rice soup that will be available for luncheon at the sale. Desserts will also be available. KIN was established in 1992 in memory of the late Marge and Wally Urbaniak, founders of Lake Nebagamon restaurant Lawn Beach Inn.
The nonprofit organization assists children whose families are experiencing crises, especially at Christmas time. KIN recently expanded its area of assistance to include the entire Maple School District. The children are referred to the organization by local schools and churches. KIN has a unique “Pay It Forward” philosophy and families who receive aid are asked to offer their help to others when they are able. “Many of our parents and the children themselves have helped at our fund raisers and projects to assist other kids.”
