USO shows feature local talent

The Douglas County Historical Society presents their “1943 USO Variety Show” at 2 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. Saturday and again at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Vasa Temple, 1101 John Ave.

This show is the “real McCoy,” complete with a radio show, Color Guard, comedians, dancers, singers and more. The Northland Youth Music Group will provide the toe tapping music with their 16-piece band. Snack bar includes, donuts, coffee, coca-cola and sandwiches. Lake Nebagamon

Bob Hope’s daughters emcee a show for the “troops on the front” beginning at 7 p.m. Saturday in the Lake Nebagamon Auditorium. Stars from stage, screen and television will entertain the audience. In addition, the “ghosts” of entertainers from past eras will also visit the auditorium stage. Tickets are $15 and include the show and light refreshment. Reservations required.
