Meat raffle
Thursday, Superior: The Superior Eagle Club, 1710 N. 12th St., hosts a meat raffle every Thursday night at 6 p.m. The club is open to the public. Proceeds support local and national charities.

Friday, Superior: The Eagles Auxiliary hosts a soup, sandwich, salad and sundae all-you-can-eat buffet from noon to 3 p.m. at the Eagles Club, 1710 N. 12th St. Cost is $7 for adults, $4 for children under age 12. Proceeds will go to local charities. Open to the public.

Thursday, Superior: A benefit spaghetti dinner for Karla and Jim Hanson who have had several financial setbacks runs 4-5 p.m. at Concordia Lutheran Church 1708 John Ave Cost is $9 adults, children 6-12, $5, five and under are free. Wednesday, Superior: Applebees restaurant is offering a free entrée, including traditional sides, to all U.S. veterans and active military personnel at all Applebees restaurant locations nationwide during regular business hours.
Adoption session
Thursday, Duluth: Lutheran Social Services hosts a session for families hoping to adopt. The session runs 6-8 p.m. at the LSS office in the Ordean Building, 424 W. Superior St., Room A.

Thursday, Duluth: Islamic scholar Kashif Saroya will give a talk entitled “American Muslims: The Next Generation” at 7 p.m. in Somers Lounge at the College of St. Scholastica. Free.
Thursday, Superior: The Superior Public Library will present a program “The Military Road and Scott House” at 7 p.m. The book is about life at the Head of the Lakes during the 1850s and 1860s.

Thursday-Sunday, Duluth: The Marshall School drama department presents the musical “Once Upon a Mattress” at 7 p.m. Thursday through Saturday and 2 p.m. Sunday in the Fregeau Auditorium on the Marshall School campus at 1215 Rice Lake Road.
