For over 45 years, nearly as long as the existence of the School District of Maple, a certain person has guided the minds and encouraged the talents of thousands of students. This person has taught several generations of district residents and while raising a family and contributing to the family business, has selflessly hosted dozens of foreign exchange students.

Since the days of using the small Poplar school stage, some construction lights, sheets, and sawhorses, this person has given performance opportunities to numerous students -- given countless hours of time to produce quality one-act plays, direct full-scale musicals, and host and coach a forensics program that consistently reaches the state level.

This certain person’s tireless involvement on behalf of students also includes those events not responsible for, but simply attends. No matter what the event – sports, awards, and music – that certain person is there, showing support of the students’ achievements.

It is without hesitation that we, all of whom have been touched by the work and the not-yet completed legacy of Mrs. Pat Luostari, honor her by naming the new auditorium The Patricia Luostari Theatre for the Performing Arts.

This honor cannot compare to the way she has touched the lives of students and residents in the district and it may not even be as long lasting as her impact on our community. It is, however a fitting way to express justifiable gratitude to this true living legend and to show appreciation for her years of dedicated service to the School District of Maple and the theatre and music programs.
