Tunell, Pendleton selected Youth Optimists

Alex Tunell and Caitlin Pendleton, both juniors at Superior High School, were selected as the Superior Optimist Club Youth Optimists for the month of October.

Alex is a member of the Pledgemakers board and Youth Leadership, and participates in SHS track and basketball. He volunteers as a referee for the Salvation Army, and leads “The Edge” Bible study at SHS. His plans after high school include a career in marketing or business.

Caitlin is a member of Harvard Model United Nations, The Spartan Spin, and is a youth representative on the Douglas County Board of Supervisors. She would like to attend college after high school with the goal of becoming a physician.

The students have been joining the Optimist Club for weekly luncheon meetings. They will have the opportunity next fall to apply for a $1000 community service award sponsored by the club.
