Fall Fling

You’ll find baked goods, candy, crafts, baskets, canned goods and more at the Fall Fling Bazaar 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at United Presbyterian Church, 229 N. 28th St. E. Free. A lunch of homemade soups, chili, bread and pie is served from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. for $6.

Ventriloquist

Come meet Rawley, Randy and Rodney, with their friend Evangelist Timothy Silcott at Calvary Baptist Church, 2810 N. 21st St., Sunday through Tuesday. The evangelist/ventriloquist will take part in 10 a.m. Sunday school, the 11 a.m. morning worship service and the 6 p.m. evening service Sunday. He will also take part in services at 6:30 p.m. Monday and Tuesday at the church. Nursery provided all days. Call 394-4241. Free.

White ribbons

The Catholic Daughters are taking up the cause of Morality in Media and will be distributing white ribbons against pornography at all the Masses on Saturday and Sunday.

Ceremony

A “note burning” ceremony will be part of the 10:30 a.m. service at Faith United Methodist Church on Sunday. It will celebrate the completion of payment of the addition, which includes an elevator and new narthex. A potluck luncheon and the annual congregational meeting will follow the service.

Meals

Darrow Road Church holds its annual Harvest Supper from 4-7 p.m. Saturday. The meal consists of ham, mashed potatoes, creamed rutabagas, corn and desserts. There will be a free will offering for the meal. For directions, call (715) 394-4401 between 8:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m.

Whispering Pines Church in Hawthorne hosts a meatball supper from 5-7 p.m. Saturday. Free will offering. For more information, call Jim at 715-816-4678.

Fundraiser

Pilgrim Lutheran Church, 820 Belknap St., hosts the fourth annual Food Shelf Benefit Concert at 4 p.m. Sunday Performers include Ruby Thomas, Bill Bastian, Todd Sletten, Randy and Mary Lee, North Shore Sounds and the Pilgrim Choir. Tickets available at the door. Cost is $4 plus a non-perishable food donation for adults, a food donation only for students and children under age 12 attend for free. All proceeds benefit food shelves of Superior and Douglas County.
