A high-speed chase over the Blatnik Bridge and subsequent foot chase Wednesday ended with two men in custody.
The chase started in Superior when police attempted to arrest three men they believed were involved in a drug deal. Police attempted to pull over the suspect vehicle, but the men drove off toward Duluth.
With lights and sirens running, several squads chased the vehicle across the bridge.
The suspect vehicle came to a stop near the intersection of West Third Street and Piedmont Avenue, and all three men took off running. Duluth police and K-9 units and Minnesota State Patrol troopers joined the chase.
After a brief search, one suspect was apprehended in a patch of woods. Another was arrested when he popped out from the trees.
Superior police Capt. Chad LaLor said he is not concerned with the third individual.
"The driver and passenger we have in custody were the primary targets,” LaLor said.
The suspects were housed Wednesday at the St. Louis County Jail. They eventually will be extradited to Douglas County.
