SHS volleyball team splits

The Superior High School volleyball split a pair of matches this week, defeating Hermantown at home on Tuesday night and then losing at Ashland on Thursday.

In the Spartans’ 3-0 (25-16, 25-8, 25-20) win over the Hawks, Christa Diedrich had eight kills and five digs, Dani Lundgren had eight set assists and Ally Keute had 17 digs.

For the Hawks, Andrea Enockson had 18 set assists and nine digs and Samantha Kallberg had 11 kills.

Against Ashland, the Oredockers defeated the Spartans 3-0 (25-21, 25-13, 25-15).

Diedrich had seven kills, Dani Magdzas had five set assists, two kills and five digs, and Lindsey Schold chipped in with seven digs and two ace serves.

The Spartans will compete in a Big Rivers Conference meet at 9 a.m. Saturday at Menomonie.
