Catholic Daughters
The Catholic Daughters meet for Mass at 11 a.m. Sunday at St. Anthony Church. The program features Fr. Don Kania and Deacon Phil Runser. There will be a business meeting and cheese ball orders will be taken. A collection for CASDA, cancelled stamps and General Mills education stamps is planned.
Harvest auction
Presbyterian Women’s annual harvest auction sale begins at 7 p.m. Saturday in the Solon Springs Community Center featuring handcrafted and homegrown items. Lunch and refreshments served. Donations may be dropped off at the community center anytime after 2 p.m. the day of the sale. Dean Neuman is auctioneer and Molly Hoag is chairwoman of the event.
Superintendent to speak
The Rev. Clarence St. John, Assemblies of God district superintendent for Minnesota, will share his experiences during the 9 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. services Sunday at Duluth Gospel Tabernacle. He will also speak during a leadership seminar at 6 p.m. Sunday.
Food shelf match
The State Bank of Drummond will match funds for the Barnes Community Church Food Shelf now through Nov. 7. Donations are only accepted at the bank during that time with each $10 being matched. The bank will have refreshments on Oct 30. The food shelf provides food for people living within 15 miles of Barnes. The food shelf is open from 9-10 a.m. the second Wednesday of each month. Church dinners
Darrow Road Church, 4020 S. Darrow Road, Superior holds it’s annual Harvest Supper 4-7 p.m. Oct. 24. The meal consists of ham, mashed potatoes, creamed rutabagas, corn and desserts. There will be a free will offering for the meal. For directions, call the church office between 8:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. at (715) 394-4401.
Ham Dinner at Faith United Methodist Church, 1531 Hughitt Ave., hosts a ham dinner 4-6:30 p.m. Saturday. Adults $8, Seniors $7, Children (5-12) $4, Children 4 and under are free. Pre-order take outs, and there will be a bake sale. The church is barrier free.
Country Peace Presbyterian Church hosts its first roast beef supper 3:30-7 p.m. Saturday at 4694 S. County Road A. Tickets are $8 adults, $4 children 6-12 and under 6 are free. Take-outs available, call (715) 398-0466 the day of the supper. Craft and bake sale and silent auction planned.
Fall bazaar
Bethel Lutheran Church, 5821 John Ave., hosts a Fall Bazaar 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday. Lunch may be purchased for $3.50.
