University of Wisconsin-Superior head volleyball coach Lynne Deadrick will have to wait for another day before she can claim her 100th victory.
The Yellowjackets (9-9) fell to UW-River Falls 3-0 (25-20, 25-9, 25-23) Wednesday in Superior. Deadrick was one win away from 100 career victories at UWS going into the match, with a record of 99-119.
Chelsie Christofferson had seven kills in the match to lead UWS. Jaimi Walfoort had five kills, and Rachel Langer and Jenny Olson had four each.
Alison Lothenbach finished with 14 set assists for the Yellowjackets, and Rachel Cherney had ten. Samantha Blake finished with 18 digs.
The Yellowjackets continue conference play Saturday with a noon game against undefeated UW-Oshkosh (20-0, 4-0) on the road. UWS then returns home Wednesday to host UW-Stout (9-8, 0-2) with the match beginning at 7 p.m. Wednesday’s game with Stout is also Senior Night for the UWS players.
