This 5k event will be held at Barker’s Island on Oct. 3.

Registration begins at 8 a.m. at the Charter Fishing Dock parking lot.

Runners start at 8:30 a.m. and the run will be timed. Walkers will start at 9:15 a.m. Community members can walk individually or put together a team with a maximum of five members.

All participants are encouraged to seek pledged donations to CASDA. An entry fee or minimum donation of $25 is needed to receive the long-sleeve event shirt.

Participants will receive a goody bag and prizes will be given to the two individuals and the two teams that raise the most pledge money.

The route will follow Osaugie Trail and is open to all ages and abilities. Wheelchairs, dogs and strollers are also welcome.

The money raised will support CASDA in providing services to victims of domestic violence, sexual assault and child abuse.
