Senior Expo offers information, entertainment

The seventh annual Duluth Senior Expo runs 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Oct. 20 at the Duluth Entertainment and Convention Center.

The seventh annual Duluth Senior Expo runs 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Oct. 20 at the Duluth Entertainment and Convention Center.

The expo, an annual gathering of over 4000 regional attendees and exhibitors, will feature exhibitors, live entertainment, keynote speakers, seminars, workshops and more.

Learn about nearly everything from the latest advances in health care to insurance, independent and assisted living, reverse mortgages, transportation, travel and more. “The Senior Expo is a fun day for people to get out and socialize, shop for products and services and be entertained and educated – it’s a pretty complete day and a lot of fun for everyone involved said Tracy Lundeen, event producer and president of Lundeen Productions.

“It’s great that all these industry professionals put so much in to their presence at the expo, the seniors really appreciate it and enjoy it and you can tell by all the interaction how much the exhibitors enjoy it and benefit from it as well. It’s really a who’s who of everyone in the business of offering goods and services to seniors in the region” he added.

The Duluth Senior Expo features live entertainment performances by the legendary Chmielewski Funtime Band, the Randy Lee Trio, Jim Armstrong and the Silver Sneakers! Also featured will be Keynote Speaker Joan Kennedy talks about the, “Five Steps to Avoid the Aging Trap.” She uses positive strategies to help people stay in the game of life.

Seminars and workshops will be presented by a number of industry professionals including the Better Business Bureau, The Minnesota Dakotas Alzheimer’s Association, Senior Law Project and more.

Admission is $6 at the door to the Duluth Senior Expo but soon seniors will be able to pick up free tickets from exhibitors and sponsors. Tickets are available now by mail order by including a self-addressed stamped envelope along with a $3 handling charge to Duluth Senior Expo, 2828 Piedmont Ave., Suite B, Duluth MN 55811. Include the number of tickets you need in the request.

Every attendee of the Duluth Senior Expo will receive a complimentary copy of the all new 2009-2010 Northland Senior Resource Guide. This 40+ page color magazine lists information on hundreds of resources available for seniors throughout the upper tri state area as well as including entertaining and informative stories.
