Gatherings

Thursday, Proctor: The Lake Superior R/C Car Club begins its Thursday Points racing series with a 6 p.m. race at their dirt track at the west end of Boundary Avenue on the Proctor fairgrounds. Club members invite everyone to watch the race. For more information go to www.lsrcc.com.

Thursday, Lake Nebagamon: Botten’s Thursday Morning Swingers will not golf today due to a special event at the course. Golf will resume May 28.

Thursday, Duluth: The second annual Walk a Mile in Her Shoes March and Rally begins at 6 p.m. at Harbor City International School, 32 W. Michigan St., followed by a 7 p.m. rally at the school. The event seeks to involve men in the movement to end rape, sexual assault and gender violence.

Friday, Duluth: Primrose Retirement Community, 724 Maple Grove Road, hosts a rummage and bake sale and tours of the facility 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

By June 1, Duluth: Artists can sign up for a new craft and art fair, Woman-Made: Marvelous Things by Northland Women, which runs 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. July 25 at the College of St. Scholastica. Thursday, Superior: The Eagles Club, 1710 N. 12th St., holds a meat raffle at 6 p.m. The proceeds support charities.

Thursday, Duluth: St. Mary’s Children’s Hospital and Kohl’s Department Stores gives away free multisport safety helmets to the first 1,000 children from 4-7 p.m. at the Duluth Kohl’s store, 2115 Miller Trunk Highway.

Thursday, Superior: Zion Lutheran Church hosts a salad bar luncheon 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., 2022 E. Second St. Door prizes. Adults $6, children $3.
