Saturday, Superior: Superior Stampede and Twin Ports Mustang and Ford Club host a car show open to all makes and models 2-4 p.m. at Ole Haugsrud Memorial Stadium. Registration is $7 and gets two people into the Stampede vs. Chippewa Valley Predators game at 4 p.m. Award presentation begins at 7 p.m. at Keyport Lounge in Superior. Sunday, Superior: Mother’s Day at the Mansion offers buy one, get one free admission all day at Fairlawn Mansion & Museum, 906 E. Second St. Tours leave on the hour from the gift shop off the parking lot. Last tour departs at 4 p.m. Adult $8, seniors and students $6.50.

Saturday, Duluth: The Duluth Children’s Museum hosts Spring into Health, a children’s health fair, 1-4 p.m. in the Great Hall of the Duluth Depot, 506 W. Michigan St. Free.

Wednesday, Duluth: A free medical clinic at the Lake Superior Life Care Center, 101 W. Second Street, Room 109 runs 1-4 p.m. Call 727-3399 to schedule an appointment for nonemergency medical care.

Help out

Saturday, Foxboro: The annual Summit Cemetery Clean-Up runs 9 a.m. to noon. Volunteers are asked to bring their own rakes. Wheelbarrows are also needed. Refreshments provided. Summit Cemetery is located on Foxboro-Chaffey Road. For information, call 399-8017.

Saturday, Duluth: The National Association of Letter Carriers holds the nation’s largest one-day food drive. The donations will be delivered to area food banks or pantries for local families in need. To participate place a box or bag of nonperishable food next to your mailbox by 9 a.m.

Tuesday, Superior: Waino Pioneer Cemetery clean up day starts at 9 a.m. Bring rakes, snippers, gloves, garbage bags and wheelbarrows if possible. All faded artificial flowers will be removed that day. Please do not place new flowers until the cleanup is done. The rain date is May 13.

Lectures

Monday, Duluth: “Understanding Transition Issues for Refugees in the Twin Ports” is the topic of a free training session 1-4 p.m. in Somers Lounge at the College of St. Scholastica. Free.

Meetings

Saturday, Superior: The veterans Memorial Day Council meets at 11 a.m. at C’s Lounge. All veterans groups should have a representative attend.

Monday, Superior: The John L. and David L. Banks American Legion Post 418 meets at 7 p.m. at the old Bud’s Sunnyside Tavern on County Highway C. All interested veterans are invited to attend.

Monday, Superior: The Superior Area Retired Educators meet at the Shack Smokehouse and Grille at noon. Committee members for May are Joann Erdman, Robin Osell, Carol Gartner, Mavis Moran and Marge Kaptonak. The program is the Senior Stage TV Project with The Top Hats performing. A short business meeting follows. The menu choices are a Swedish meatball dinner or a Mandarin chicken salad. Call 398-6512 for reservations.

Tuesday, Superior: The Richard I. Bong American Legion and Auxiliary 435 meets at 7 p.m. at the Richard I. Bong Veterans Historical Center. Poppies, fundraisers and a possible raffle are discussed. Serving will be Audree Smith and Dolly Johnson.
