Thursday, Superior: A joint concert with the UWS Jazz Ensemble raises money for the UWS Jazz Scholarship Fund, Manion Theater on the campus of UWS at 7:30 p.m. Cost is $8 and $5.

Friday, Duluth: The University of Minnesota Duluth presents a vocal jazz concert at 7:30 p.m. in Weber Music Hall. Tickets are $8 for adults, $7 for seniors, $5 for students and $3 for UMD students. Call 726-8877 or go to tickets.umn.edu.

Fundraisers

Thursday, Superior: The Eagles Club, 1710 N. 12th St., is having a meat raffle at 6 p.m. Proceeds support local charities.

Friday, Duluth: Spaghetti dinner fundraiser and silent auction for Kari Hart who has gall bladder cancer runs 5-7 p.m. at Mr. D’s, 5622 Grand Ave. Medical bills have exceeded $400,000. Donations may be sent to Kari Hart Medical Fund, MCCU, 215 N. 40th Ave. W. Duluth, MN 55807. For information or to donate auction items, call Robin at (218) 391-3077. Suggested donation $10.

Thursday, Duluth: The Mental Health Support Group meets 5-7 p.m. the first and third Thursday of each month at Miller Dwan Medical Center, 502 E. 2nd St. Meeting Rooms 1-3, lobby level, eastside near the auditorium.

Lecture

Today, Duluth: Lissa Weinmann addresses these questions in “Cuba: The Evolution of the Revolution and the U.S. Response in a lecture at the University of Minnesota Duluth at 7 p.m. in Montague Hall 80. Free.

Thursday, Superior: The Old Town Travelers meets at 7 p.m. at St. Francis Parish Hall. Reservations for our annual club dinner in July can be made. The cost is $7.50 and you must be a club member to attend. Contact Jan Cannon at 392-3859. The spring greenhouse trip to Winter, Wis., on May 28 and a couple of baseball trips are being planned. Hostesses are Barb Anderson, Gert Payton, Gail Anderson, Myrna Brennan and Aileen Melis.

Thursday, Lake Nebagamon: Botten’s Thursday morning Swingers meet at 10 a.m. at the clubhouse. All ladies invited to join. Golf after the meeting if weather permits.

Thursday, Superior: The 58th annual Day of Prayer runs noon to 1 p.m. in front of the Douglas County Courthouse, 1313 Belknap St. An evening of prayer runs 6:30-8:30 p.m. at the International Lake Superior House of Prayer, 2201 E. Fifth St.
