Harings tosses no-hitter at Solon Springs

Tressa Harings tossed a no-hitter as the Northwood Evergreens softball team defeated the Solon Springs Eagles 14-0 in five innings Thursday afternoon in Solon Springs.

Tressa Harings tossed a no-hitter as the Northwood Evergreens softball team defeated the Solon Springs Eagles 14-0 in five innings Thursday afternoon in Solon Springs.

The loss drops the Eagles to 0-2. They opened the season with a 4-3 loss Monday at Shell Lake.

Rachel Hanley hit a home run for Solon Springs and Chenae Barrett belted two hits.

The Eagles are back in action at 4:30 p.m. Monday at Luck.

Northwood, which opened with a 9-2 loss to Duluth Denfeld Tuesday at home, is at Bruce at 5 p.m. Tuesday.

Denfeld’s Laura Bellamy struck out six in three innings and Kaitlin Bagley five in four innings for the Hunters.

Allison Severson doubled, singled and knocked in three runs, Nikki Logergren had a bases-loaded triple, Bagley doubled and singled and Bellamy had two hits.
