Summer Theatre Camp at the University of Wisconsin-Superior offers students in grades 8-12 grade from the Twin Ports area an opportunity to learn acting and technical skills and to take part in a special theatre presentation.
Summer Theatre Camp runs from noon to 5 p.m. weekdays June 15 to June 26 in Holden Fine and Applied Arts Center at UW-Superior. Campers work with university faculty, local professionals and university theatre students to learn acting techniques and gain hands-on experience in the university’s theaters, scene shop, costume shop, video labs and more.
At the end of the camp, students take part in a special theatre presentation created during the Summer Theatre Camp experience.
“We offer campers opportunities to gain the full range of theatre experiences and skills using our theaters and set workshop,” said Cathy Fank, director of the University Theatre program at UW-Superior. “They can take part just for fun, or to prepare for theater productions at their schools. Students who participated last year can enroll again to learn more advanced techniques.”
Cost of the camp is $75. Enrollment is now open. Application deadline is June 10. For more information or to get an application, call Cathy Fank at 394-8388 or e-mail cfank@uwsuper.edu.
