4: Lead changes in the previous Sprint Cup race at Bristol Motor Speedway, site of this week’s Food City 500. It tied the July 1972 race for fifth-fewest lead changes in a Bristol Cup race. The record is zero, set by Cale Yarborough in March 1973. Yarborough started from the pole and led all 500 laps, winning by more than two laps over Richard Petty. Carl Edwards won last August’s race by nearly two seconds over Kyle Busch who led a race-high 415 laps. Edwards led 84 and Jeff Gordon 1.
