Robert Wesley Woodhull, 83, of Steinhatchee Fla., died June 10, 2008, at the Marshall Nursing Home in Perry, Fla. where he had been staying for two months.
Robert Wesley Woodhull, 83, of Steinhatchee Fla., died June 10, 2008, at the Marshall Nursing Home in Perry, Fla. where he had been staying for two months.
Mr. Woodhull was born Oct. 22,1924, in Poplar, the son of Charles Ford and Beda Wilhelmina (Johnson) Woodhull. He had served in the United States Marines during World War II and was a Christian. He moved to Steinhatchee from Poplar 30 years ago and spent his summers in Poplar. He was self-employed as a housemover in Wisconsin for many years and helped others in moving buildings after retiring in Florida.
He was preceded in death by one son Clayton Eugene Woodhull; parents; Charles and Beda Woodhull; seven brothers Reuben, Clayton, Mervin, Orville, Douglas and Lewis Woodhull and Amnon Berlin; two sisters Carl (Frances) Lambert and Al (Florence) Leslie.
Survivors include his wife of 60 years Betty Jane (Reed) Woodhull of Steinhatchee; two sons Robert Wesley Jr. of Peachtree City, Ga., and Michael (Debbie) of Poplar; six daughters Patty (Bear) Moreland, Lucy (Dean) Pooler and Yvonne (David) Pooler all of Lake Nebagamon, Janice Woodhull of Duluth, Jacky (Jimmy) Sheridan of St. Petersburg, Fla., and Wendy (Joe) Hunt of Perry; one brother Lloyd (Pearl) Woodhull, of Poplar; 34 grandchildren; and 57 great-grandchildren.
A small graveside service was held on Friday at 11 a.m. at Waters Cemetery in Steinhatchee. Beggs Funeral Home of Perry was in charge of arrangements.
