SCR 9, Stanberry Giants 2
The Ravens notched their first Independent League win with a 9-2 decision over the Stanberry Giants in Solon Springs Sunday afternoon. After falling behind 1-0 in the top of the second, R.J. Keur got SCR on the board, launching a solo home run to right-center to tie the game at 1-1. The Ravens then scored twice in the fifth, once in the sixth and twice in the eighth to earn their second win of the weekend.
Tim Bouvine earned his first victory in a Ravens’ uniform after SCR starter Reed Coil left the game after one inning due to tightness in his right biceps. Bouvine worked eight innings, allowing two runs on six hits, while striking out seven.
At the plate, Keur paced SCR going 2-for-2 with a home run and two RBIs. Ryan Sepion went 2-for-5 with a double and an RBI. Kris Minor was 1-for-2, scoring a pair of runs and stealing three bases, and Scot Arganbright went 1-for-3 and scored three times. Brad Glassmaker also added a hit and drove in a pair of runs.
The Ravens (7-2, 1-2 conference) hit the road on the weekend with a pair of Independent League games. SCR travels to Spooner Saturday to face the Cardinals at 1 p.m. before going to Haugen Sunday for a 1 p.m. match-up with the Knights.
