Robert Victor Fries

Robert Victor Fries, 65, of Minong, passed away Wednesday, May 14, 2008, at Saint Joseph’s Hospital in Marshfield, surrounded by his family.

Robert was born Nov. 13, 1942, in Hartford to the late Victor and Rose (Elsinger) Fries.

Robert married Dorothy Brinkman in Hartford in 1962.

From 1976-1995 Robert and Dottie owned and operated View Point Lodge in Wascott.

Robert was an avid outdoorsman, he loved gardening and hunting. He had a wonderful sense of humor and he enjoyed reading history. Robert was a charter member of the Wascott Fire Department.

Among those who survive and gratefully shared his life are his wife, Dottie of 46 years, one son Kevin (Jane Monday) Fries of West Bend; three daughters Laura (John) LeJeune of Solon Springs; Liz (Hans) Hurlbutt of Sedro Woolley, Wash., Linda (Scott Thomas) Fries of Hartford; eight grandchildren, two great grandchildren; one sister Louellen (Ron) Hoffman of Horicon; one niece and one nephew and his gardening companion Ella.

A celebration of Robert’s life is 4 p.m. Sunday at the Brown Funeral Home in Minong. Pastor Craig Nelson officiates. Visitation is from 3-4 p.m. Sunday at the Brown Funeral Home in Minong.

Interment will take place at a later date.

Honorary pallbearers are the Wascott Fire Department.
