Golden LivingCenter-Superior joins thousands of long-term care providers throughout Wisconsin and across the nation in celebrating National Nursing Home Week, May 11-17.
This week-long celebration honors the residents, staff and volunteers working and residing in long term care facilities nationwide.
Sponsored by the American Health Care Association, the week spotlights the role nursing homes play in delivering quality care to our nation’s seniors and disabled Americans, 1.5 million of whom reside in nursing facilities.
“The population of nursing homes and long-term care facilities grows exponentially each year,” said Daniel Stephans, executive director of Golden LivingCenter-Superior. “National Nursing Home Week is the perfect time for our staff to educate the community about the quality of the care and service we provide to our residents each and every day. It also allows us a chance to publicly thank our employees and volunteers while celebrating the lives and contributions of our residents.”
Golden LivingCenter-Superior has planned activities that foster intergenerational relationships, collect and preserve residents’ reminiscences, strengthen relationships with family members, celebrate quality, and recognize all staff members who demonstrate excellent caregiving.
These activities include an open house 1-5 p.m. Wednesday with prize drawings and tours, educational seminars on various topics and much more. The public is invited.
