A man who rolled his car on a residential Superior street Sunday night admitted to Superior Police that he was texting someone on his cell phone when the accident occurred.

The driver, Anthony Herman, 26, of Superior also told investigators he had been drinking, according to Sgt. Mark McGillis of the Superior Police Department. Herman was arrested and blood was taken. He was cited with operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated and inattentive driving.

The accident occurred at the corner of John Avenue and North 23rd Street. Two parked vehicles were struck and Herman’s vehicle wound up in the middle of the road upside down, McGillis said.

Herman, the only occupant, was not injured. The car was towed.
