Wanda Jean Thomas

Wanda Jean Thomas, 77, Hayward, formerly of Marshall, died Sunday, April 20, 2008, in St. Luke’s Hospital, Duluth. She was born Sept. 16, 1930, in Xenia, Ill., to James R. and Mabel R. (Fatheree) Reed.

Wanda Jean Thomas, 77, Hayward, formerly of Marshall, died Sunday, April 20, 2008, in St. Luke’s Hospital, Duluth. She was born Sept. 16, 1930, in Xenia, Ill., to James R. and Mabel R. (Fatheree) Reed.

Wanda was employed by GTE and Verizon as an operator for more than 30 years.

She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary Post 333 in Sun Prairie.

Wanda is survived by two sons, Rick (Linda) Thomas, Anchorage, Alaska and Mike Thomas, Stone Lake; four grandchildren, Robin Allgyer, Tara Johnson, Shane Thomas and Michael Thomas III; two brothers, William F. (Trudie) Reed, Ferguson, Mo. and James (Betty Jo) Reed, Fort Mead, Fla.; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Thomas on June 29, 1981, and a daughter, Brenda Sue Johnson in 1999.

A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday in the Sun Prairie City Cemetery in Sun Prairie.

Lenroot-Maetzold Funeral Home, 1209 E. Fifth St., is assisting the family with arrangements.
