Project becomes life-changing

Bridget Meinke, a nursing student at Wisconsin Indianhead Technical College, used her leadership class to lend a helping hand to the Challenge Center.

Bridget Meinke, a nursing student at Wisconsin Indianhead Technical College, used her leadership class to lend a helping hand to the Challenge Center.

With coaching from Terri Franson, Adult Day Services director at the Challenge Center, Meinke planned the event, recruited volunteers to run it, contacted businesses for support, supplies and donations for a silent auction and arranged the location. The benefit was held April 8 at the Moose Lodge. Meinke is grateful for the community contributions that helped her turn a school project into a life-changing event.
