The Twin Ports area will be under blizzard warning from Thursday evening through Friday evening.
The blizzard watch will cover Carlton, Douglas and southern St. Louis counties. A foot or more of new snow, combined with strong northeast winds gusting from 40 mph to 50 mph, will create hazardous travel conditions. Locations near Lake Superior can expect hazardous whiteout conditions, several hours of near–zero visibility and significant drifting of the snow.

In parts of northwest Wisconsin, rain or sleet may also mix with the snow.
Much of the rest of the region will be under a winter storm warning, including Ashland, Bayfield, Burnett, Price, Sawyer, Washburn and Iron counties. Those areas can expect to see wind gusts of 30–40 mph and from 5 to 9 inches of snow.
