Singing Grannies perform at rally

Singing Grannies from the Northland Chapter of Grandmothers for Peace perform at an Northland Anti-War Coalition rally at 5:30 p.m. Friday.

The gathering begins at the Minnesota Power Plaza and the group marches to the YWCA. At 6:15 p.m., there is an indoor rally in the YWCA’s Trepanier Hall, followed at 7 with a potluck supper and silent auction. From 8-10 p.m., there are four anti-war movies being shown, two at the YWCA and two across the street in the Men As Peacemakers office.

The coalition hosts a 12 p.m. press conference and vigil at the Duluth Civic Center on Wednesday, the fifth anniversary of the Iraq war.
