Upcoming outdoors events

• Free turkey hunter education clinics in Douglas County. The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources offers two clinics: 5 p.m. Wednesday at the Superior Public Library and 5:30 p.m. Thursday at the Solon Springs Community Center in downtown Solon Springs. Hunter safety, turkey hunting tactics and calling discussed. Clinics last three hours.

• Gitchee Gumme Chapter of the National Wild Turkey Federation annual Hunting Heritage Banquet at Barker’s Island Inn at 5 p.m. Friday Tickets are available at Nummi Jewelers, Superior Shooter’s Supply or at the door. Single tickets cost $60, $95 for couples and $260 for sponsors.

• Candlelight hike or snowshoe at Amnicon Falls State Park at 8 p.m. March 29. The trail leads over the covered bridge, around the island and back.
