Local chefs take part in PBS eight cooking program

Host Juli Kellner welcomes 19 local cooks into the WDSE Cooks kitchen for “C” is for Comfort Foods. The program premieres 1 p.m. Saturday on PBS eight and is repeated 1 p.m. March 16.

Kirk Bratrud from Superior’s Boathouse Restaurant shares with us his dish, torsk dinner. Bratrud shows us how to make a poached cod served with parslied potatoes and rutabaga-parsnip gratin.

Also, Foxboro’s Connie Carlson puts a “wow” into her pecan pie by spicing up the recipe. Carlson’s “wow” pecan pie is an appetizing comfort food.

Whether it’s dessert or hotdish, “C” is for Comfort Foods serves up recipes that hit the spot. Also, don’t miss an encore of “B” is for Bars 12:30 p.m. March 9 at on PBS eight. This four hour bar making show will give you some sweet treats to accompany your comforting foods.
