Robert “Bob” J. Barningham, Superior, passed away Saturday, Feb. 23, 2008, at St Luke’s Hospital in Duluth after a two-year battle with cancer, with his family at his side.
He was born Aug. 30, 1949, in Washburn, the son of Ronald and Josephine (Larson) Barningham. Bob was 58 years old and worked numerous jobs in Superior and the Bayfield/Red Cliff area. He attended Northland College and the University of Wisconsin-Superior. He enjoyed cooking, fishing, golfing and spending time with his grandchildren.
He is survived by two daughters, Jennifer (Chris) Eckard, Robstown, Texas, and Rebecca Barningham, Superior; four grandchildren, Drake, Nate, Elizabeth and Isabella; two sisters, Peggy (Steven) Boyd, Red Cliff and Pamela (Bob) Barningham, Bayfield; aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and special friends, Tom Filipczak and Kelly Taylor.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Billy.
A funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Bethesda Lutheran Church in Bayfield with Pastor Bill Wrieden officiating. Visitation begins at 4 p.m. Tuesday at the Red Cliff Elderly Center and continues Wednesday from 10-11 a.m. at the church. The Bratley Funeral Home in Washburn is handling the arrangements.
