Conservation training nets scholarships
The Douglas County Fish and Game League offers scholarships to students majoring in conservancy-related fields.
The group plans to award two $500 scholarships that may be used for tuition or other eductional expenses. They are awarded upon proof of enrollment in a post-secondary school.
Students applying for the scholarship must be graduating seniors living in Douglas County with a cumulative grade point average of 2.5. They must be seeking a degree in conservation, forestry, wildlife management, soil management, fisheries, biology, conservation officer or a related field to recieve the scholarship.
Applicants are required to complete an application form, include two letters of reference from staff in their school district and one from someone outside of the district. The references must include telephone numbers or an address. Applications are available at county high schools. Completed applications may be sent to Rick Krause, 1924 E. 11th St., Superior, WI 54880.
The deadline for applications is April 1. Scholarship winners will be notified by mail.
