Dragons too hot for SSHS girls
The Solon Springs High School girls basketball team fell to Siren Tuesday, 75-44.
The Solon Springs High School girls basketball team fell to Siren Tuesday, 75-44. The Eagles fell behind 19-5 after one quarter and never recovered.
Leading the way for Siren was Carley Emery. She 32 points in the game, playing in just three quarters. Janey Emery also finished in double figures with 13 points.
For the Eagles Kate Klinzing led the team with 14 points. Rachel Hanley finished with 13 points and Lorin Larson contributed 11 points. Salann Gilbert added four points and Lydia Utyro scored two points.
Siren held a huge advantage in free throws and fouls in the game. The Dragons made 15-of-30 attempts at the line while Solon Springs made just 3-of-5. In addition, two Eagles players fouled out, and no player on the Siren team had more than two personal fouls.
The Eagles host Mellen Monday in SSHS’s regular season finale.
