Cerresso Fort of St. Paul earned a fifth-round technical knockout of Andy Kolle in the main event of a boxing card on Friday night at Grand Casino Hinckley.
The fight was originally going to be for the Minnesota light middleweight title but was officially listed as a middleweight bout after both boxers weighed in at 155 pounds, or 1 pound over. Fort improved to 15-0-1 with 11 knockouts, while Kolle, who used to fight out of Duluth but currently lives in Fargo, fell to 25-4 with 18 knockouts.
Boxers R.J. Laase of Duluth and Winston Anderson of Cloquet were also on the card. Laase (10-1) earned a majority decision over previously unbeaten Justin Jones (5-1), while Anderson (2-0) earned a first-round TKO of Ryan Gronvold (1-7).
Former Minnesota Vikings defensive end Ray Edwards was also on the card, with the 6-foot-5 heavyweight improving to 2-0 with a first-round knockout of Cory Briggs (0-4).
