Superior schools will be closed Tuesday because of extreme cold

All public and private schools in Superior will be closed Tuesday due to extreme cold temperatures and wind chills, district officials told the News Tribune this afternoon.

All public and private schools in Superior will be closed Tuesday due to extreme cold temperatures and wind chills, district officials told the News Tribune this afternoon.

Other districts that have announced that they'll be closed Tuesday include:

  • Ashland schools

  • Bayfield schools

  • Birch Grove Community School

  • Carlton schools

  • Cloquet school district

  • Duluth Business University

  • Duluth public, private and charter schools

  • Ely schools

  • Esko schools

  • Fond du Lac early headstart and headstart

  • Fond du Lac Ojibwe school

  • Hermantown schools

  • Lake Superior College

  • Lake Superior school district (Two Harbors, Silver Bay)

  • Maple-Northwestern schools

  • Proctor schools

  • Red Cliff Early Childhood Center

  • South Shore schools

  • Spirit of the Lake Community School in Duluth

  • Washburn schools

    Delayed

  • Fond du Lac Ojibwe school (two-hour delay)

  • Winter school (two-hour delay)

    Morning low temperatures at 20 below zero and colder and wind chills making it feel colder.

    High temperatures Tuesday are expected to remain well below zero.
