College men’s hockey: Eau Claire defeats UWS

Jordan Singer had three goals Friday night as No. 6-ranked Wisconsin-Eau Claire stopped No. 13 Wisconsin-Superior 5-2 in a Northern Collegiate Hockey Association game before a crowd of 497 in Eau Claire, Wis.

Eau Claire (13-3-2 overall, 8-2-1 NCHA) got off to a 2-0 lead midway through the first period on two Singer goals. Josh Kesler got UWS within 2-1 after 20 minutes.

UWS (10-7-1, 5-5-1) trailed 4-1 when Pat Dalbec scored his 14th goal of the season with 4:38 to play. Singer has 12 goals.

Eau Claire had a 33-27 shots-on-goal edge. Drew Strandberg started for UWS and was replaced by Dennis Nordmark after the first period.
