Adrian sweeps UWS

Adrian College goalie Brittany Zeches made 42 saves in a 4-1 win over Wisconsin-Superior in a Northern Collegiate Hockey Association women’s game between ranked teams Saturday afternoon in Adrian, Mich.

No. 9 Adrian (14-3 overall, 9-3 NCHA) led 1-0 after one period and 2-0 after two on goals by Sarah Connelly and Alix Vallee.

No. 8 UWS (8-6, 5-5) scored with 2:37 to play on a goal by Kerry Mayhew. The Yellowjackets, which led 43-24 in shots on goal, has lost three straight games. Shanley Peters had 20 saves for UWS.

First-place Adrian won 4-3 in overtime Friday and is 12-1 the last 13 games.
