’Jacket men blank UW-Stout

Andrew McKenzie’s goal with 3:18 remaining in the third period lifted the University of Wisconsin-Superior men’s hockey team to a 1-0 win over UW-Stout Saturday night before a Wessman Arena crowd of 843.

Few penalties were called in the game, as UWS had two and UW-Stout had one in each period.

Chad Beiswenger stopped all 24 shots to record his fifth shutout of the season. Mike Stone made 30 saves for UW-Stout (13-4-1, 5-4).

UWS, 10-5-5 overall and 4-4-1 in the conference, hosts St. Norbert Friday and Lake Forest Saturday. Both games begin at 7:05 p.m.
