Skydiver hurt in landing at Bong Airport in Superior

A skydiver was injured when he landed awkwardly on Saturday afternoon.

A skydiver was injured when he landed awkwardly on Saturday afternoon.

Superior firefighters were called to the Bong Airport at 12:43 p.m. to aid the skydiver, Battalion Chief Vern Johnson said. The victim was taken to Essentia Health St. Mary’s Medical Center by Gold Cross Ambulance.

Gary Androsky of Superior Skydive said the victim was a veteran skydiver. He remained in the hospital Saturday evening, but his injuries were not serious, Androsky said.
