The National Weather Service has issued winter storm warnings for most of the Northland starting late Saturday and extending through most of the day Sunday. Parts of the region may see snowfall of more than 6 inches.
While light snow may begin Saturday evening, the brunt of the storm is forecast to hit from late Saturday night through early Sunday afternoon. Gusty winds may cause blowing and drifting snow, making travel difficult across the region.

Duluth, Cloquet, Two Harbors, Grand Marais
A winter storm warning is in effect from 6 p.m. Saturday to midnight Sunday, for snow accumulations of 6 to 10 inches, with locally higher amounts along the higher terrain of the North Shore.
Iron Range and interior parts of the Arrowhead
A winter storm warning is in effect from late Saturday night to late Sunday night, for snow accumulations of 5 to 8 inches.
Grand Rapids, Brainerd
A winter storm warning is in effect from 6 p.m. Saturday to 9 p.m. Sunday, for snow accumulations of 6 to 8 inches.
International Falls, Bigfork, Ely
A winter weather advisory is in effect from 9 p.m. Saturday to 6 p.m. Sunday night, for snow accumulations of 2 to 5 inches.
Superior, Hayward
A winter storm warning is in effect from late Saturday night to late Sunday night, for snow accumulations of 6 to 8 inches.
Bayfield, Ashland, Hurley
A winter storm warning is in effect from late Saturday night to 9 a.m. Monday, for snow accumulations of 6 to 10 inches with locally higher amounts. Lake-effect snow showers are expected to occur Sunday into Monday as winds turn out of the northwest.
Twin Cities
A winter storm warning is in effect from late Saturday night to late Sunday night, for snow accumulations of about 6 inches.
