Hockey: Idle Bulldogs fall to No. 20 in poll

Minnesota Duluth dropped three spots in the U.S. College Hockey Online men's poll released today.

Minnesota Duluth, idle last weekend, dropped three spots to No. 20 in the U.S. College Hockey Online men's poll released today.

The Bulldogs (2-3-1 and 0-1-1 in WCHA) resume play Saturday (7:07 p.m.) and Sunday (2:07 p.m.) at Nebraska-Omaha (4-3-1 and 2-1-1). Defending Division I champion Boston College (6-1) remains No. 1 in the poll followed by No. 2 Minnesota (5-2) and No. 3 Denver (5-1). Other WCHA teams in the U.S. College Hockey Online poll are No. 6 North Dakota (3-2-1), No. 15 St. Cloud State (5-3) and No. 19 Colorado College (5-3).

  • The UMD women (3-6-1) remain unranked and are off this week as Division I teams take a break for the Four Nations Cup which runs Tuesday through Saturday in Kerava and Tikkurila, Finland. The United States, Canada, Sweden and Finland are competing. The U.S. beat Canada in a shootout for the 2011 championship in Nykoping, Sweden.

    UMD's schedule resumes No. 16-17 at St. Cloud State.

  • The Wisconsin-Superior women dropped one spot to No. 9 in the U.S. College Hockey Online Division III poll. The Yellowjackets (3-2) are home against No. 6 Wisconsin-River Falls (2-0) at 4 p.m. Friday and 2 p.m. Saturday in a Northern Collegiate Hockey Association series.
