Wisconsin-Superior won a match and lost three this weekend at the Wisconsin-La Crosse Invitational Volleyball Tournament.

The Yellowjackets opened Friday’s play with a 25-13, 15-25, 25-18, 25-19 loss to Loras College despite 12 kills from Nikki Gosson and 25 digs from Farrah Wirtz. St. Thomas then downed UWS 25-20, 25-14, 25-19 as sophomore Keely Deadrick of Esko had 24 set assists and seven digs to lead the Yellowjackets.

On Saturday, Hamline held off UWS in a hard-fought match, 15-25, 25-19, 19-25, 25-19, 15-9, despite 14 kills from Gosson and 17 kills apiece from Wirtz and Emily Cole.

UWS ended tournament play on a positive note with a 25-15, 25-14, 19-25, 25-20 victory over Luther as Gosson and Jessica Dvergsten each had 12 kills, Wirtz had 21 digs and Deadrick had 38 set assists to lead the Yellowjackets (17-13).
