Superior police have located a car being sought in connection with Friday’s hit-and-run death of a pedestrian, Police Chief Charles LaGesse told the News Tribune on Sunday night.
LaGesse said authorities no longer are searching for the vehicle believed to have struck and killed a 61-year-old man at the corner of Broadway Street and Hughitt Avenue on the city’s north side at about 9:30 p.m. Friday. He said more details on the case will be released today.
According to police, the car — described as a dark, four-door sedan similar to a mid-1990s Lincoln Continental — did not stop after hitting the man, continuing westbound on Broadway for several blocks before turning south.
The name of the victim had not been released as of Sunday evening. Check duluthnewstribune.com today for updates on this story.
