2 killed in separate accidents in Sawyer County

A 34-year-old man died when a tractor overturned and a 61-year-old man died when he hit a deer on his motorcycle Saturday.

Two people were fatally injured in separate accidents in Sawyer County on Saturday.

At 3:47 p.m., the Sawyer County Sheriff’s Department received a call that a tractor had overturned on a man on Cemetery Road in Radisson Township. Michael Korzenieski, 34, of Ladysmith, Wis., suffered head and chest injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene by the Sawyer County Coroner. Korzenieski had been trying to pull a truck with the Ford 4000 farm tractor when the accident happened.

Shortly after 8 p.m., the sheriff’s office received a call that a motorcyclist had hit a deer on Wisconsin Highway 70 at Pelican Road in Draper Township.

The motorcyclist, a 61-year-old man from Park Falls, Wis., suffered head and chest injuries. He died of his injuries Monday. At his family’s request, the sheriff’s office is not releasing the victim’s name.
