Drowning victim near Hayward identified

The Sawyer County Sheriff’s Office in Wisconsin released the name of a man who drowned in a lake between Hayward and Clam Lake Sunday.
Thomas McNally, 68, of Menasha, Wis., was on a pontoon boat with his family about 11 a.m. Sunday when he decided to swim to the shore near Virgin Timbers Resort on Moose Lake. The Sheriff’s Office said McNally was about 100 yards from shore when he started having trouble and was unable to stay afloat. His body was recovered by a dive team about 1 p.m.
