Two Superior businesses were robbed early this morning.

About 3:30 a.m., a lone female entered the Walgreens at North 21st Street and Tower Avenue, snatched money from the cash register and fled the store. An immediate search of the area by police officers did not find the suspect or evidence.

Approximately nine minutes later, an identical call came from the Hammond Spur at North Fifth Street and Hammond Avenue. In this case, two females entered the store; the description of one matched the suspect in the Walgreens robbery.

In both robberies, the suspect(s) pretended to make a purchase at the checkout counter and when the clerk opened the register grabbed the money and fled. No weapon was used or threatened to be used, and no one was injured. A small amount of money was taken from both businesses.

Anyone with information on the robberies is asked to call the Superior police tipline at (715) 395-7468.
