A section of Interstate 35 in Carlton County will be reduced to a single lane in each direction, and several ramps will close, beginning this Thursday as crews work on a resurfacing project.
Drivers will encounter single-lane, head-on traffic on I-35 from Scanlon east to the Larson Road overpass — just west of the County Highway 61 exit — starting Thursday and lasting until mid-October.
In addition, several ramps on that stretch of highway will close:

Highway 210 bridge work
As previously reported, the Minnesota Highway 210 bridge over the St. Louis River between Carlton and Thomson will close for renovation starting June 6. Traffic will be detoured until mid-October.
Seven Bridges Road closed
The city of Duluth has closed a portion of Seven Bridges Road between the first and second bridges because of the effects of last week’s heavy rain on the soil along that stretch of road. The closure, announced Friday, will last until further notice.
