Flood advisory issued for some Douglas County streams

The National Weather Service in Duluth has issued a small-stream flood advisory for Bluff and Bear creeks and other tributaries to the Nemadji River, which are overflowing from heavy overnight rains.

The National Weather Service in Duluth has issued a small-stream flood advisory for Bluff and Bear creeks and other tributaries to the Nemadji River, which are overflowing from heavy overnight rains.

At 10 a.m., the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office reported high water on streams across the northern half of the county and that County Road Z was closed due to water over the road.

Motorists and hikers should be aware of high waters near streams. The advisory is in effect until 2 p.m. today.
