UMD headed east to face Maine

Minnesota Duluth will face Maine in the opening round of the NCAA men's hockey tourmament.

The Bulldogs (24-9-6) fell to No. 7 in the PairWise Rankings after a 4-3 double-overtime loss to Denver on Friday in the WCHA Final Five semifinals. That earned UMD the No. 2 seed in the Northwest Region, which includes No. 1 Boston College (29-10-1), the top overall seed, and No. 4 seed Air Force (21-10-7).

UMD will play the Black Bears (23-13-3) at 6:30 p.m. CDT Saturday. The winner will face the Boston College-Air Force winner at 7 p.m. Sunday with a berth in the Frozen Four on the line.
